Hi,
thanx for ur reply, well there are tnsnames.ora file in lot of locations in my system. tell me the complete procedure of updating that information and in which file i should make these changings.

hi,
just go to ORACLE_HOME/net80/admin directory
edit the tnsnames.ora file
make an entry like this

orcl =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.9.1.100)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ORCL))
)
