Hello,

Every time there is a log switch, Oracle initiates a checkpoint.

If your logs are small -- Checkpoints will occur frequently.

If your logs are large -- checkpoint will not occur frequently and hence there is a crash, it could take a long time to recover.

Frequent checkpoints can effect your performance.

Well in general log switch should occur in every 20-30
minutes, its history can also be viewed in your alertlog file.

You should size ( drop and add) your redo logs until you receive this target.
