Hi,
I have oracle7.3 server on Unix .It is taking 20-30 sec. for to get the connection to database both from remotly and locally.
What could be the problem.I have checked with script utlbstat.sql and found all parameter are ok.
Ur help is Solicited.

Have you tried to ping the listener? how long was the response.
how much load is there on your machine.
If there is almost no activity on your db the Bstat/estat may not produce a result which is useless to ascertaining where your current problem is occuring
