Hi! My question is regarding tables that have more than 450+ columns. What are some of the problems of having huge tables? Also is it worth the time and effort to break down the tables into much smaller ones? Thank you!

Well, From Oracle 8 onwards, we can have max of 1000 columns in a single table. But by having large no. of columns there is a very high probability of incorporating row-chaining, which can have serious Performance repurcussions. So, it is always ideal not to have very large no. of columns in a table unless it leads to a high degree of de-normalization
