I am migrating my oracle 8.1.7 database to 9.1.1.But during upgrade(running an .sql script) it gave me the acces denied message.I ended the installation and tried to connect via sqlplus with / as sysdba bu it gave me the error
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

The interesting thing is that I i am connect with sys/change_on_install as sysdba.
what should I do

Did you setup the new ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME, before trying to connect? To which instance you are connected - hope to the new one..
