I am working on an account that wants to clone their production database to the development environment on a regular basis (most likely weekly). They are using Oracle 8.1.7. They use EMC arrays with BCVs. While I understand that I can clone the database by splitting the BCV and using those files to create a clone database, I am wondering if there is a way to preserve the development specific items that haven't been moved to production yet(tables, packages, procedures, etc.). These would need to exist in the instance after the cloning process. One idea I had was to perform an export of all development user objects (by user) and then re-import them after the clone. Any ideas (or references to documentation) will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks!
