We are unable to install Oracle Release 3 (8.1.7) for Windows NT on windows 2000server, installed on P4 1.6 gh with INTEL 845WN mobo,256mb ram ,40 gb hard disk, d drive partition having 10 GB space.

when we run setup.exe, the .exe is not getting started or intiatied that means nothing is happening.

but suprisingly, if we install oracle 8.1.5 on the same system everything is happening and oracle is succesfully installed. please advise.

PS: we are facing this problem from past 1 year and formatting was done may be some 100 times and the Windows2000 server was reinstalled. also there are 2 systems with the exact configuration. God save us

this know problem in P4 ONLY

1. Copy the entire CD to a temp directory in Harddisk
2. look for the filename symcjit.dll.
3. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old.
4. Run the setup.exe from the Harddisk.
