We are trying to archive to two destinations. One is on teh NT machine on which teh oracle server runs, and teh other is onto a UNIX box. Unfortunately the unix box will not let oracle archive to it as teh process doesn't have the right permissions.
Is there any way of giving oracle the permissions necessary for it to be able to write these logs to the unix box?
For example is there any oracle service we can run as a different user, (as opposed to running as system) who does have access to the unix box?

Can I ask how are you mounting the Unix filesystem on NT machine . You should be able to specify the unix user right, when configuring the network share?
Are you able to manually write to this unix filesystem from the NT Server as user oracle?
