ORA-19502 on Windows NT 4.0 with lots of Space [message #59471]

Hello Everyone,

I have a Windows NT 4.0 server running Oracle 8.1.7

Approximately once a month I get ora-19502 error and cannot write to the archive log. All user activity ceases and I can logon only internally.

I have checked the server for I/O errors and have found none plus I have lots of free space on the volume.

Basically I have to start and stop the oracle service and everthing is ok.

However sometimes I have to reboot the entire server.

Has anyone encountered this problem before and can anyone help me with this problem
