Dear sir i posted this error in linux faq but no reply

i am trying to install oracle (8i) 8.1.6 in linux 9
i am stuck with these error

symbol errno, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference (libzip.so)
Unable to initialize threads: cannot find class java/lang/Thread
Could not create Java VM

i made this entry but its

set LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1

but the error is same

I got an similiar problem by installing Informix on a SLES 8.0
The solution was to install the old glibc from the suse-cd, because the db could not work with the new glibc.
