Hi
I installed Oracle 8.1.7 on Slackware 9.1. Everthing went fine till running the Database Configuration Assistant. I can't run that due to ORACLE Instance can't be found error. Then I installed the glibc-2.3 patch from Oracle and started Database Configuration Assistant again successfully. Now it says that orapwd file is not found. When I checked under $ORACLE_HOME/bin, I can see only orapwdO instead of orapwd. Same is the case with sqlplus also. I am having only sqlplusO. Most of the executables are having an additional "O" at the end. Any suggestions is appreciated

If they all end in O, that's a bad sign. Didn't they get relinked?
