I am not setup with a default role.  According to the DBA, I have multiple roles.  The DBA staff isn't very helpful though.

How can I see all available roles so I can set my role to what I need?

Try DBA_ROLES, ROLE_SYS_PRIVS or ROLE_TAB_PRIVS. Paradoxically, you may need your DBA to run queries against these views if you do not have access to them.

Check user_role_privs for roles assigned to you. Check session_roles for roles that are enabled currently.
